In 2003, I visited Mexico City because Prime Minister of Japan, Ryutaro Hashimoto Sensei was visiting for an Environmental Summit. He was supposed to run a Kendo practice, and I was asked by Mayumi Katsura to join the practice. Unfortunately, Hashimoto Sensei could not practice due to his schedule, so we went to his hotel to have a conversation with him.

My impression of him was that he was a very friendly person and had a great love for Kendo. He really wanted to practice with the Mexican people.
During this trip, I had the opportunity to practice at Mexico City Dojo and the City of Puebla Dojo.
