Today, we had two young Kenshis from Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The older brother is 15 years old and has Second Dan, and the younger brother is 12 years old and has Sho-Dan. Their father found our Dojo from our website and sent Ariga Sensei an e-mail last week. As they had never known each other, even Ariga Sensei didn’t know their way of Kendo.
Super quick Men…….
It was my first impression of their Kendo. Their Kendo is very straight and fast. Especially, their small Men are awesome. It is like a bullet. The moment I saw him move, he hit Men to me.
At last, we had a match with them. They are very strong. Nobody could beat them.
After practice, we had a little get together at the Dojo. They will stay here until Saturday. They told us that they practice very hard in Japan. The older brother practices in the morning before school and also in the afternoon from 3 pm to 10 pm every day and aims at Inter High school which is the championship for high school students in Japan. Since they live relatively in the same area as Masahiro Miyazaki Sensei, his son always competes in the same tournament, which makes it very difficult to win the tournament because they are the same age, and they are always fighting in the same category.
Also, since their father has USA citizenship, they are thinking of moving to the USA in the future. I am looking forward to the day!!
