Hello. This is Asuka. Today, two female Kenshis came to our Dojo from Soka University. So, last practice was a very big group, and we could for a group of females to do the drills.. Usually we can’t make female group, since there are only a few female in our Dojo, and they all don’t come [...] Hello. This is Asuka. It has been a week since I last practiced Kendo, because I traveled around Southern California. There were a fewer students than usual today. Since our Dojo is not so big, this number was actually ideal for our practice. Unfortunately, I found that my size 39 Shinai was broken just before practice. So [...] Hello, this is Asuka. Yesterday, it was hot and humid in Irvine. Practice is not so hard, but everybody sweat a lots. But we had a good practice. We usually practice for 2hours and have 3 parts like every Dojo does; 1 Basic Practice ,2 Waza Practice, 3 Ji-geiko. Ariga Sensei teaches us the tip for each [...] Akemashite Omedetougozaimasu! Happy New Year to everyone. Every year, we hold a Toshikoshi Keiko at our BUTOKUDEN Dojo in Irvine. We started in 2004, and this is the 4th time.
